For this speech, create an Outline to be submitted through Canvas BEFORE you submit your speech. Remember that your outline must have a one-sentence central idea/thesis containing your subtopics (be sure to use your approved thesis from your Speech Plan). Also, complete the Informative Speech Checklist BEFORE your submit your outline/speech.
Provide an extraordinary introduction using one of the attention-grabbing devices. Verbally present your central idea/thesis in order to make clear to the audience the aspects and purpose of the speech.
Focus on remaining on topic and consistently mindful of the audience. Look for opportunities to link the content of the speech directly to the audience.
Also, build your credibility on the topic by citing specific sources used. You must cite 2-4 sources for this speech (no less than 2/no more than 4). Provide a Works Cited page following MLA format. Refer verbally to the sources in the speech (if you do not, you are plagiarizing and your grade will suffer).
VISUAL AID: Students will use one visual aid. This can include an object, model, image/photo shown through a PowerPoint, graph, chart, video, or you as the speaker presenting a procedure. Keep in mind that your visual aid must be large enough to be easily seen when you use it in your speech.
