West African history

Description

You will write a paper on a single primary source in West African history. You will identify, analyze and contextualize that source. Who wrote or produced it? How do you understand it? That is, what does it mean—what did its producer intend for it to mean, and how do you interpret it, as a historian? What is its significance? Your paper must be armed with a strong thesis statement in which you state your over-all argument clearly and concisely. The thesis belongs at the beginning—not the end!—of your paper. The paper should be no less than ten pages in length. you need one primary source.
