Suzy is an adult who identifies as female. She comes to you, the therapist, to help her figure out what has been concerning to her and her partner Rosie. Suzy reports that she initially was hesitant coming in. She says that
she does not trust easily. She begins to explain how her partner Rosie is concerned because she sometimes finds Suzy “spaced out.” Suzy reports that Rosie says this happens to Suzy daily. Suzy says she cannot recall
doing such a behavior. Suzy then explains that sometimes she has a hard time getting to work. She says that some days she feels an urgency to go because she feels needed, but other days she says to herself, “what’s
the point?” Suzy says that Rosie has told her that if she cannot find her asleep in bed she knows she can find Suzy working on an activity somewhere in the house even it is 3:00AM. Suzy then tells you that deep down she believes Rosie will abandon her if she finds out she may have a mental illness.
