Reaction papers are an opportunity for you to reflect on class readings, class content (e.g., lecture & speakers,
etc.) and/or outside assignments. It is important for those planning to work in a helping profession to:
understand the underpinnings of trauma; develop self-care skills & strategies that promote resiliency and
compassion satisfaction; link to available resources and community/natural supports that encourage wellness;
and practice professional & ethical responsibility through the use of trauma-informed care. Reaction papers are graded on both quality & quantity of content and effort. Your statement must be 2 pages but no more than 3
pages.
