This I Believe

For this essay, you will make an argument about a "rule" you live by, a thing you have found to be a basic value in your life. You'll use your personal experiences as evidence.

Instructions:
You argument may be optimistic or pessimistic, silly or serious. Regardless, you must make an argument about some rule you live by or value that is fundamental to your life. You may believe that every morning should begin a particular way, or maybe you believe in certain rituals to get you through a day, or perhaps you believe that doing the uncomfortable is worth it. This assignment will help you to improve your skills of persuasion as you make an argument and provide evidence to support it.

To develop your argument, you will give clear, persuasive reasons for your belief. Use specific stories from your own experiences to support your argument (for example, not "I have always liked ice cream," but rather "when I was six, my dad would always take me for ice cream").
