Doesn't need to be in power point, I just need the following addressed -
Book Title & Award: The presenter gives the title of the book and shares what award it won. They briefly share what types of books that award recognizes.
Summary: Prepare a summary to share with your group so that they have background on what the book is about.
Physical Features: How does the size, shape, cover, front matters, endpaper, and paper quality contribute to a meaningful experience of the book? Cover each of these separately.
Artistic Media: Research & analyze your book for its use of artistic media (pen and ink, pastels, graphite pencils, color pencils, wax crayons, collages, woodcuts, photographs, oil paints, gouache, or watercolors). How does the use of media contribute to the overall meaning of the picture book?
Artistic Style: Analyze your book for its artistic style (realistic, impressionistic, expressionistic, abstract, surrealistic, folk or naïve, or cartoon). What is your evidence that supports your ideas? How does the style contribute to the overall meaning of the picture book?
Choose two (side-by side) pages to analyze in great detail - Visual Elements: Analyze your book for the use of visual elements (ALL of the following - line, color, shape, texture, composition, point of view, distance). How do the visual elements contribute to the overall meaning of the picture book?
Literary Elements: How are literary elements (plot, character, setting, mood) reflected in the illustrations?
Elements of Illustration: Analyze your book for its use of the following elements of illustration: double page spreads, single page images, collages, overlapping images, or portraits. Consider the page turns: do the images change over the course of the book (get bigger, smaller, follow a sequence/pattern) How do they contribute to the overall meaning of the picturebook?
Interplay of Text and Illustrations: How do the text and illustrations work together in concert to create meaning?
