• Select any movie that you like. It can be of any genre: comedy, horror, romance, documentary etc. It can be of any historical era that you want.
• Select two theoretical concepts from Module 1, 2 OR 3. For example: body image, habitus, gender, class, docile bodies, etc. You can look for theoretical concepts at the beginning of the slides for each module.
• Get some popcorn and watch the movie.
• Analyze your movie by looking for examples of your two theoretical
concepts in conjunction. For example, you can write about habitus
misalignment and class in Shrek, or gender and discipline in the Princess Diary. Pay attention on how the characters use/display their
bodies.
• Write your movie reflection in four steps: write the definition of your
theoretical concepts, write a brief synopsis of the movie that you
selected, write examples from the movie that illustrate your
theoretical concepts, write a brief conclusion.
