Order Description

This is not research proposal. This is a research summary.
This is an assignment of TWO parts.

Part2:
Your task is to select a theoretical concept or concepts encountered in the unit and apply it to a real world case.
You should choose a firm, an industry or a country and write NO MORE than 3500 words analysing the behaviour of that firm/industry/ country with respect to the

appropriate theoretical concepts.

For example…
– You could choose a country and consider it’s economic development and growth with respect to theories of growth and development.
– You could choose a country and analyse it’s trading relationships with respect to trade theory and / or theories of multilateralism and regionalism.
– You could look at the institutional context of a country in terms of its growth and development.
– You could use models encountered in the unit to look at competitiveness for a firm or industry.

Part1:
You will be required to submit a short proposal (1 page) of the chosen topic area for approval from your tutor within 2weeks.

So please first, I would like to receive the 1 page proposal (part-1 of the assignment) within 2 weeks, and then when approved by my tutor, I would like to receive

part-2 of the assignment.

International Environment – Second Assignment

This is the second of TWO assignments, and is worth 60% of the overall unit mark.

You will be required to submit a short proposal of the chosen topic area for approval from your tutor.

General comments:
–    Write NO MORE than 3500 words (not including appendices / references)
–    The assessment is about your ability to apply theory. Therefore, you should to avoid a simple descriptive account of events.
–    A list of the sources (books, articles) consulted for the assignment should appear at the end (under the heading: References). The list of References should be

set out alphabetically, using the Harvard style of presentation, as is the convention in the business school. For a guide see:

Grading Structure:

0-50%:    Work in this band is poorly written. The question will not be answered directly and there will be little evidence, for example data, to support the arguments

being made. There is likely to be over / or under use of statistics, or use of irrelevant statistics. The narrative will suggest a lack of knowledge or understanding

of theory. Some of the key issues relating to theory may be identified, but there will be significant gaps. There is unlikely to be any critique or application of

theory. There will be information presented without context or explanation. The narrative will significantly lack clarity and coherence. References may be few and

incorrectly presented.
50-60%:    Work in this band will generally be of decent quality. Most of the key issues required to answer the questions will have been identified. It is likely that

these issues will not be fully explained or contexts made explicit. Theory may be explained, but not critiqued or applied. Supporting evidence will be present but will

have flaws. The narrative is likely to contain errors of grammar, and have some portions that lack clarity and coherence. References may not be adequate or be

inconsistently presented.
60-70%:    Work in this band will be of general good quality. The key issues will be identified and generally well explained, together with the appropriate contextual

evidence. Theory may be explained, but not fully critiqued or applied. Supporting evidence will be present but will have flaws. The narrative will be well written,

concise and coherent, however, some areas will be inconsistent and lack the clarity and coherence required for a first class grade. References will be adequate and

largely correctly presented.
70% +:    A first class grade will be awarded to work that demonstrates a knowledge of theory and the ability to contextualise. This knowledge will be supported with

appropriate evidence, such as data, that fits with the context of the narrative. There will be a full and clear explanation and application of relevant theory and

appropriate critiques. There will be consistent high quality written English, demonstrating an ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear, coherent and succinct

manner. References will be full and correctly presented.
