“The Ways of Meeting Oppression,” Martin Luther King

In “The Ways of Meeting Oppression,” Martin Luther King, Jr. says that violence is wrong because it is impractical and immoral. Do you agree with this idea, or do you think that violence is sometimes right? Include at least one counterargument and refutation in your answer.

  1. Does committing a crime which basically is violence, wrong because it is impractical and immoral?
  2. Two reasons why I think committing violence is wrong.
  3. If you let a person get off a sentence by only giving them a warning, what does it make you believe he won’t go back and commit more violence.
  4. There are ways you can put people on different punishment but maybe some people have mental issues which would be very hard for them to go to prison so at that point they have to be sent to the hospital to be taken care of.
