A Two-page Paper on the Trends of Student Debt In the USA
In drafting this two-page analysis of your evaluation of the trends for the student debt delinquencies, you
should include the graphs you created and use then as the basis of your analysis. Be sure to clearly share your
thoughts on the rates of student loan delinquencies. What factors do you think affect the rates of
delinquencies? What actions do you envisage from households that are indebted and what advice would you
offer them? What sort of policies would you expect on the part of the government that could reduce the student
loan burden on households?
As part of the write-up, include a clear explanation of the process you followed (steps taken) to obtain your
data and create your graphs.
Be sure to cite, using APA, any findings to back your argument and provide your references.

Data (https://www.newyorkfed.org/microeconomics/databank.html) and download the Quarterly Report on
Household Debt and Credit – choose the excel file labeled Household Debt Statistics by State (2003 - 2019).
Once you download this excel file open the tab for studentloan_delinq:
• Create a bar graph showing the student loan delinquencies for all states for the last year (2019). Name the
top 6 states with the highest rates of student loan delinquencies for last year? Which state has the highest
loan delinquencies among these 6 states?
• Create a new bar graph with the highest 6 states for every 3 years going as far back as the data will let
you (i.e 2019, 2016, 2013, 2010, etc). Go on to critically analyze the data using the visualizations (bar graphs),
you have created
