Full Answer Section The characteristic that stands out the most to me is communication skills. I believe that this is the most important characteristic for a real estate agent to have, as it is essential for building relationships with clients and for effectively negotiating deals. The characteristic that stands out the least to me is organizational skills. While this is an important characteristic, I believe that it is less important than communication skills and problem-solving skills. I am not sure if a real estate sales career is for me. I am interested in the field and I believe that I have some of the necessary characteristics, but I am not sure if I have the drive and the personality to be successful in this field. I would need to do more research and talk to more real estate agents before making a decision. The real estate license process in my state (California) is as follows:
  • Complete 135 hours of pre-licensing education.
  • Pass the California Real Estate Salesperson Exam.
  • Find a sponsoring broker.
  • Apply for a real estate salesperson license.
