The Prince Today

After reading the excerpt from Machiavelli's The Prince and the article, “Machiavelli’s The Prince: Still Relevant
after All These Years” by John O’Rourke, research some of the recent political races and/or upcoming political
races. Write a 350-500 word analysis of the political effectiveness of a candidate in his/her election using
Machiavelli's The Prince as a judgement of the effectiveness of a "ruler." Please provide a brief (50 words or
less) introduction to your candidate and the election. Must have quotes from The Prince, citations, and specific
details. Complete a Works Cited page in MLA format. It does not count in your word count. You may (but do not
have to) use other outside sources as well. This is a major grade.
