The Media and Me

  The Media and Me   Consider what makes up you identity. Which aspects of your identity are most important to you (sex, race, ethnicity, age, socio-economic class, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, etc.). What do you think is most important to others when they meet or encounter you? Why? Prompt Part II: How do you think your identity has been shaped by the media. Locate one piece of media that impacted may have had some impact on your racial identity at any point in your life. (You may have to be creative and use critical thinking if you have never thought about this before.) For that media source, answer the following questions: Offer a specific example of how it could have impacted the way you see yourself, racially. Could this media have impacted your behavior? Did you reenact something you saw? Did you buy something? Did you become more self-aware when it comes to your behaviors? Did this media impact how you see yourself or think about your appearance? Part III: What would you like to see done better in the TV shows and movies of the near future, with regards to portrayals and representations of race and ethnicity? Be desсrіptive
