What would you say if you had the opportunity to deliver a final lecture to the people who meant the most to you, especially if you knew that you had only months to live? Randy Pausch, former Carnegie Mellon University professor, gave such a talk titled: "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams" because he wanted to leave this legacy for his young children. While you may never have to face such a situation as Pausch did, the numerous themes (messages) throughout his lecture are overarching and universal. Imagine that you have been invited to give a "Last Lecture" at Kean University. You have been asked to address questions from each of the following sections:
1) What makes you unique? What do you, alone, truly have to offer? What makes you special? 2) What childhood dreams have you achieved? What are your dreams now? 3) What adventures have you had? What lessons have you learned? 4) How have you enabled the dreams of others? How have you reached beyond yourself to others? 5) How have you lived your life? How do you recharge your batteries? Where have you found meaning in or for your life? What values have been important to you? What do you believe in? 6) What advice would you give? What questions do you still have? What legacy are you leaving?
Even though this assignment mainly focuses on Professor Pausch's lecture, use elements of Dr. Paul Kalanithi's article. Please no plagiarism give credit where is due thank you.
