elaborate on it giving reasons to support your stand. You must also anticipate as well as counter objections – use counterargument. You

Procedures and dates Check each point off as you do it
1. Use a prewriting technique to gather ideas.
2. Guided by the ideas you have, write a thesis statement. This statement should broadly include the main reasons you will give to support your position. You may
change this statement later.
3. Arrange the ideas in a plan or outline. The lack of a plan or outline can limit your success in producing a good essay. Write, revise, and rewrite. Review our
textbook on APA, paraphrase, etc.
4. Guided by the comments you receive from your peers or me, revise on your own, ask a peer to read your essay and give additional comments, or visit the Writing
Center.
5. Hand in the final draft with ALL required materials at the beginning of class on Tuesday January 13th; the essay must be dropped in iLearn Safe Assignment
before the class.
First and final drafts must be typed.
Late assignments will be penalized if accepted; they may not be added to the final grade for the semester due to time constraints.
