This centralized information promotes informed decision-making among healthcare providers, ultimately enhancing patient safety. However, there are usability challenges that affect the overall rating. For instance, the interface can be overwhelming for new users due to the sheer volume of information presented, which may hinder effective navigation. Additionally, the process of entering data can be time-consuming and cumbersome, leading to clinician frustration and potential documentation errors. These factors contribute to a moderate rating rather than a higher score. Proposed Functionality to Enhance Interprofessional Collaboration To further promote interprofessional collaboration, I propose the addition of a real-time communication tool within the EHR. This tool could facilitate seamless messaging and notifications among healthcare providers, allowing for instant access to patient updates and care plans. By integrating features such as secure messaging, video conferencing, and collaborative care notes, team members from various disciplines can engage more effectively in patient care discussions. For example, if a nurse identifies a change in a patient's condition, they could quickly communicate this to the attending physician or specialist through the EHR's messaging system. This would not only improve response times but also foster a collaborative approach to patient management, ensuring that all team members are kept informed and engaged in care decisions.
