The Great Depression (The World in Depression)

In his classic book on the Great Depression (The World in Depression), Charles Kindleberger makes an important assertion about system governance. For the world economy to be managed successfully, he argues, “there has to be a stabilizer, one stabilizer.” Do you agree or disagree – and why? Illustrate your answer with examples drawn from past history and current circumstances of at least two of the issue areas that we have studied in this course (trade, money, economic development, etc.).
