The Fallacy of Accuracy

Why does the Chapter 6 reading say that, under the concept of the "Fallacy of Accuracy," using past profiles as a measure of success in predictability to assist in future profiles may not be helpful in profiling cases? This is based on the idea that the measure of success is normally based around accuracy, but this is also problematic given that profiles may be accurate, but detrimental to an investigation. Why?
