Paper details Write a 3-4 page paper (not including cover page and reference section) that addresses the connection between the knowledge of child development and the advocacy efforts from a subject in social welfare that effects children. Students will identify the issue, provide historical background and describe the specific advocacy efforts in that area. Students will demonstrate how the advocacy efforts include and apply their understanding of the stage of child development.
Section a. Describe the subject and the relevant relevance to child development.Provide brief historical background for that subject.
Section b. Identify advocacy efforts occurring in your subject area? Choose a specific group, organization, entity and describe what is the focus of the advocacy? What population is being targeted to achieve the efforts? What methods are being used?
Section c. Describe how the advocacy efforts in Section b have incorporated child development into their efforts toward change in the area you chose (can be programs, policies, direct interventions, etc.) Paper should demonstrate your identification and understanding of child development information gained throughout the course. Students may cover a single phase of child development or cover multiple phases. All three sections (physical, cognitive, and social/personality) must be referenced for at least one phase of childhood.
Section 4: Describe the success or need for improvement. Back up position with empirical data from research.
