After reading the article, what was your main take away? Meaning, what fact made you most surprised or gave you the desire to research the information? Don't forget to add another link to add interesting facts to your post (follow the format in the instructions).
Now, pick another state and research that rate and comment on it. What made you pick that state?
How has this new additional research (in addition to the article or website I assigned to you) further informed you?
In Summary, go and research the topic that interests you, find a third party link (website address) and use that link and some content from the chapter, footnote both (the link and the chapter content) and post it.

1st Response
1). Summarize your thoughts from the chapter assignment and/or give answers to questions as listed above after the bls link.
Additional Required Research:
2.) Using an outside reference (link), give a summary of why you included the link and why it adds to your summary above. It must be cited in the body of your post ex: (www.FED.gov)
AND
Include, (use) a book topic from the corresponding chapter that applies to the assignment and give it a citation in the body of the post ex: (O’Brien p. 376

2nd Response
Discuss another lesson you learned from Chapter 9

  • Using a NEW outside reference (link), give a summary of why you included the NEW link and why it supports your reply above. It must be cited in the body of your post ex: (www.FED#2.gov)
  • Include (use) a book topic from the chapter that applies to what you are agreeing with or disagreeing with and give it a citation in the body of the post ex: (O’Brien p. 377)

• BOOK DETAIL:
o You must incorporate terminology or definitions from the chapters that pertains to your discussion topic (ex: the formula for GDP or CPI) AND REFERENCE IT in EVERY ONE OF your discussions. When you cite chapter, detail put it in parentheses with the page number as above indicated

o When you are posting your comments, the inclusion of book information should be identifiable. If you quote something from the book and you are not notating it properly, you are effectively committing plagiarism. So, when you include a book link or a 3rd party link, they should be notated.

• LINK DETAIL:

o Must be fact based and come from fact-based sources … Using a .gov source is great. DO NOT USE BLOGS.

o No link = no points.

o You cannot use the same link for both of the responses. Each discussion will need two separate, fact-based links to support your commentary. If you use the same link twice, the second one will not count, and you will receive a zero for that post.

o If you do not include a link, you are simply giving me your opinion (not backed up by any factual data). Although I appreciate your opinion, I have to receive factual efforts in a college level class.

• Last but not least:
o Spelling and punctuation matter, organization matters, interesting matters. Keep in mind, you are not texting me or your classmates, you are not having a conversation and a beer, you are doing college level work, so be professional in your review and commentary. Proper use of English, spelling and punctuation is required.
