Strategic Family Therapy

Strategic Family Therapy

Strategic Family Therapy – Someone has to develop a "Strategy" to help the family in crisis. This is a more aggressive, directive type of therapy where the

therapist spends the initial session time assessing the family and determining the challenges faced by the family. The therapist then devises a plan to address these

challenges and puts on her or his "Drill Sergeant" hat and gets to work. This week is about exploring this more direct role for the therapist in the therapy

process.
