Stigma on ethical issues

What can we do to change the stigma on ethical issues with patients pain management decisions made by health care providers"? I have selected this question for my research question. I chose this question because during my tenure as a health care professional I have witnessed families and patients complain of their pain not being properly managed because of race and gender. As a nurse and patient advocate I would like to see better outcomes regarding pain management regardless of ethical background and gender.
