OVERVIEW
In a previous assignment, you argued for specific Marks of a Disciple. For this assignment, you will create a spiritual assessment to gauge how a person measures up to the marks you created regarding a mature or complete disciple. This assignment is where your previous study and understanding of the various aspects of each mark will come into play.
INSTRUCTIONS
There are a variety of ways to conduct an assessment. Surveys, questionnaires, interviews, and focus groups are some of the more common ones; however, for this assessment, you will create a survey using a Likert scale. (Note: If you are unfamiliar with a Likert scale survey, spend some time looking up various Likert scale surveys and structures on your own.)
For this assessment, you will provide each Mark separately from your previous assignment. Under each Mark, you will provide a series of Likert questions or statements.
Each Mark must have a minimum of 5 questions or statments. Each question/statement must have a point value associated with it. Then, at the end of the questions for that Mark, provide a way of adding up and presenting the total of all the points for that Mark.
At the end of the assessment, provide a chart to show each Mark with a place for the totals to be written in.
Two generic examples are provided on the next page. Another full example regarding Church Health is located on the Marks of a Disciple: Assessment Design Assignment page under the Marks of a Disciple: Assessment Design Resources. The resource is called Church Health Analysis Questionnaire. Do not limit yourself to these examples. Feel free to get creative on the design, but when creating the questions or statements, ensure they are thoughtful as sub-elements of the Mark being assessed. In other words, your questions or statements should reflect an aspect of the Mark being assessed.
Think of this assessment in practical terms. You are being asked to create a method of evaluating where people are spiritually as a disciple. This assessment will show where people are strong and where they need to grow. It will allow you to create a specific growth plan. Is this assessment going to be perfect? No. It is going to be complete? No. But, it will provide one good means of evaluation.
