Somatosensory Systems

Research Proposal _ This is for a Sensation and Perception Course
Your goal for this paper is to identify a need for research (that is, generate a novel hypothesis) on a topic related to sensation or perception - and then design
an experiment to test this hypothesis.
it contains the Introduction and Methods section. The introduction should include a thorough literature review, leading up to your idea (hypothesis), where
you identify a gap in the extant literature that needs to be addressed. As you identify the need for new research, explain your hypothesis clearly. Include a
Methods section that details the exact methodology you would used to test your hypothesis. It should include the sub-sections such as Participants (how
many participants will you need, what characteristics should they have, how would you recruit them), Materials (what equipment and stimuli would you use in
the experiment) and Procedures (explain step by step what the participants do in the experiment, identifying the independent and dependent variables). You
may find that the Notes and Reflections Papers (described below) may serve as a useful starting point for your proposal.
The paper should be written in APA style (consult APA Publication Manual, 7th edition, as needed) and include a title page, Introduction, Methods, and
References. You may include any Figures or Tables as you deem necessary.
