Why do you think Socrates, even after having been condemned (perhaps very unjustly) by Athens to death,
takes Athens' side by defending the position that he owes absolute allegiance to Athens whether or not he
approves of how it has judged his case? Do you think such absolute allegiance is right? Think about it: you're
thrown into prison unjustly—simply because of the color of your skin or your ethnicity or religion, or for your
belief that the State (America) has lost its way and become morally corrupt. What would your response to this
injustice be? Now think of what the best and most moral response to it should be
