Online hate crimes, harassment, discrimination, and disinformation are increasing. Social media is doing just what it was designed to do—bring groups of people, with similar interests, together to build strong, virtual communities. But some of those interests are abhorrent and make the world a worse place. Is it possible to filter out the hate and preserve the good of social media? How could this be done, and are the solutions even possible?
