This is a musical adaptation from a play that was written in the 30’s. It can feel a little dated as a result. The plot revolves around a Hungarian store who’s two main employees, Georg Nowack and Amalia Balash are at consistently at odds with each other at work. They are unaware that each is the other’s secret pen pal met through lonely-hearts ads. The story line can feel kind of dated but we are watching it for the specific reasons below. I want you to write a 2 – 3 page paper again. This time I don’t need a synopsis of the play, I want you to do an analysis of Acting, Directing, Design and Playwright.
