Rhetorical analysis
Rhetorical analysis
1. Summarize the visual/digital text briefly to provide context for analysis. You will NOT include a copy of your visual/digital text in the paper itself (ie, no cut and pasting photos or screen shot of website), which means you have to give your readers enough initial desсrіption and context so we can then understand your analysis. 2. Give your understanding of the rhetorical situation (author, purpose, audience, context) using examples from the text to support your view. 3.Evaluate the appeals to ethos, pathos, and logos in the text. Identify some specific rhetorical strategies that the author uses to achieve his purpose. Make sure every claim you make is supported with examples from the text and that every strategy you identify is explained in terms of rhetorical purpose. (For example, it is not helpful for you to point out that the font is red unless you explain how that is significant rhetorically). Successful Papers Will: • Provide context for examples so reader will not be confused • Provide a unique thesis or interpretation of the text • Support the analysis with evidence, examples, and explanation • Organize the analysis in focused paragraphs with transitions • Use in-text citations where needed and include a Works Cited
