Review the impact of personal, social and cultural factors on learning

    what are the main factors that affect how young people learn? What were your experiences at school. How does this/did this affect your learning? How might it affect the learning of who you teach? What might you need to be wary of? What positives might there be? • Socialisation – what factors influence us and made us all who we are/what we believe in. How does this/might this impact on learning? E.g. what might we need to consider if we were brought up in a household with a very strict disciplinarian ethos? • Cultural/social aspects –what do you believe in? What is socially acceptable to you? Do we all have an unconscious bias that we need to be more aware of when teaching? What is your knowledge and understanding of different cultures? How might this affect communication and learning?
