Response to an article

Write a 1–2 page response paper to either Option A (“The Instagram Aesthetic Is Over” AND “Sorry, Millennials. The Emoji isn't Cool Anymore”) or Option B (“The Second Act of Social-Media Activism” AND “Social Media Transformed Teens’ Ability to Build Activist Movements Online”). Your response should consider how the pair of articles relates to the concept of 21st Century digital literacy (think IMT). You should also feel free to reach back to any ideas, concepts, theories, etc. that you learned about in Unit 1 (if it makes sense for you to do so).
A lot of texts talking about 21st Century literacy seems to take a “we are going to hell in a handbasket” approach to our current situation. I like these paired articles because they don’t.

Option A: “The Instagram Aesthetic Is Over” https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2019/04/influencers-are-abandoning-instagram-look/587803/ (Links to an external site.)
AND “Sorry, Millennials. The Emoji isn't Cool Anymore” https://www.cnn.com/2021/02/14/tech/crying-laughing-emoji-gen-z/index.html

Option B: “The Second Act of Social-Media Activism” https://www.newyorker.com/culture/cultural-comment/the-second-act-of-social-media-activism (Links to an external site.)
AND “Social Media Transformed Teens’ Ability to Build Activist Movements Online” https://www.teenvogue.com/story/social-media-activism-changed-everything

Your response paper should include brief (about 3-5 sentences) summaries of the texts, before moving on to your reactions, impressions, and observations.
