Guidelines for the Research Paper Outline
An outline about a geographic concept discussed in the course is required as part of your
overall grade. In order to receive points for the Research Paper, an outline of your paper must
be submitted and reviewed by the instructor or your Research Paper will not be accepted.
No exceptions!
The Research Paper Outline will assist in focusing your research topic and will help organize
the paper and it is worth up to 10 points.
Format for the Research Paper Outline is as follows:
The Research Paper Outline is a summary of the major points or topics presented in your
Research Paper.
The outline shall be consistent with the Research Paper Outline sample provided in the
Course Lesson in Seaport.
All topics must be reviewed by the instructor before submitting the outline for your research
topic. Send me an email with a general summary of the topic you are considering and I will
share my thoughts.
The Research Paper Outline shall be maximum one-page in length in sentence outline form
and shall be typed in a current word program. I will not accept outlines emailed directly to me.
Students are required to submit the Research Paper Outline into Dropbox in Seaport prior to
the due date. If you submit your Research Paper Outline outside of Dropbox in Seaport I will
not accept it.
After the Research Paper Outline is submitted into Dropbox in Seaport, your points will be
entered into the course Gradebook
