For the Research Essay, you will be selecting a specific era or time period and describing how a specific author was influenced by that time period. Rather than write a whole draft of the research essay, you will pitch your idea, including the time period and author you want to cover.
Research Essay Prompt:
In what ways doe the era in which the author lived have an effect on his/ner poetic styles and works?
The pitch should answer the following questions in 1-2 pages.
How do you plan to approach the topic?
How will you structure the essay?
What is your tentative thesis and what type of evidence will you use to prove it?
What is the ultimate goal for this research paper?
