Review of Scholarly Literature (graduate students only) (30% for grads only)Under the advice of the instructor, you will identify a sub-field or specialized area of

research within Qur’anic studies and write a 10-12-page review of the relevant scholarly literature. You may choose to selectively survey what you consider the most

pertinent and influential works, but your review should explain the rationale for your selections and should include the works of at least two different scholars. Your

written review should clearly demonstrate comprehension of the sources; collate relevant extracts that evince their most salient ideas and problems; compare and

contrast their parameters, approaches, and findings; and critically assess the current “state of the art” and possible next steps for further research.
