Description
You have chosen a "project management"-related issue of interest. Submit a 5-7 page research paper using a variety of resources. The subject of the paper should be relevant to a "project management" undertaking that demonstrates a process-based practice intended to align the delivery of services with the needs of the enterprise while emphasizing benefits to customers. The research should be based on some service(s) related to project management principles.
Research Paper Requirements
The listed research paper headings are mandatory for your assignment. Subheadings may be used as appropriate.
Abstract – A brief, comprehensive summary of the research. This summary allows readers to survey the contents of an article quickly and, like a title, is used by abstracting information services to index and retrieve articles with the use of search engines.
Introduction – Introduce the project. The body of a paper opens with an introduction that presents the specific project under study and describes the research strategy. Before writing the introduction, consider the given questions.
What is the point of the paper?
How do the project relate to project management principles?
What are the implications of the research, and how does the study relate to previous work in the area?
A good introduction answers these questions in a paragraph or two and, by summarizing the relevant arguments and previous work, gives the reader a clear sense of what has been done and why.
Project Statement – Define the exact nature of the project you are researching. This statement should be clear and succinct.
Problem Significance – Explain why this project is significant. Consider answering these questions:
Why is this project worthy of research?
What are the implications posed by project in question?
Literature Review – Review the literature, but do not include an exhaustive historical review. Assume that the reader has some knowledge in the field about which you are writing and does not require complete digest. It is your responsibility to properly cite the material you use in your paper. At the same time, cite and reference only those works pertinent to the specific issue and not works of tangential or general significance.
Primary Content – Cover the subject matter and project management process details. Ideally, the content of previous sections provides you with the means to organize this section into several subheadings. Project management is the process of planning, monitoring, and controlling a unique set of tasks that have a discrete beginning, end, and outcome. The project management process is performed within the three constraints of time, costs, and scope. The goal of project management is to produce a technically acceptable product that is both on-time and within budget. To do this, project management attempts to reduce the risks associated with the project and maximize the benefits, including profit and marketability. Several tools and techniques are available to help the project manager monitor and control projects.
Case examples can be used here, too. Put longer cases and supporting materials that cannot be easily cited in the References section in the Appendix.
Industry Response – Explain how the healthcare industry is affected by your specific research project and what action is being taken to respond to the project. Cite specific examples where necessary. The focus of this section is to document the industry response, for better or worse. What exactly is the industry doing to address this project issue?
Conclusion – Evaluate and interpret the implications of the research problem, especially with respect to your problem statement. You are free to examine, interpret, and qualify your conclusion and to draw inferences. Focus on what the paper has explored and elaborated on where the trends appear to be heading.
