Sample Answer
Public health issue: Obesity
Current law or health policy: The Affordable Care Act (ACA)
Need for change in the current policy
The ACA has made significant progress in improving access to health insurance and healthcare for millions of Americans. However, there is more that can be done to address the issue of obesity. Specifically, the ACA could be expanded to cover more preventive services and treatments for obesity, such as counseling, weight management programs, and bariatric surgery. Additionally, the ACA could be used to promote healthy eating and physical activity through public health campaigns and community-based initiatives.
