Case Study: Greenland DentalsGreenland Dentals is a new high street dental clinic which has recently opened up with a small set of patients. They are hoping to provide current and state of the art technology and services to its patients. They are focusing on a customer relationship management system to target their customers.  The initial few months have seen a slow but steady surge in their customer base and the numbers are fast increasing. The website has been accommodating the current appointments well but fears that it will have difficulty in the future to accommodate the increase in patient appointments. They have limited resources as they are a new start up and recently they have been plagued with viruses in their main database which corrupted their mailing list and sent incorrect information regarding offers and promotions to its existing clients. They have two desktop pc, one that handles all the bookings is with the admin team and the doctor has one in his office which records patient history. There aren’t any security measures for these computers as they feel secure with the physical security such as locks and alarms. The admin is responsible for the entire client facing communication as this is the only way they can promote services to their customers. The admin team work in shifts as well as the dentists and there is no clear separation of duties.Their payment system is based on their current level of customers and this might not be able to sustain their service levels if the customer base increased. The Clinic’s management are concerned with the compliance, data protection and ethical working; they would like some guidance in these matters as well.   • You have been called in as a risk consultant to determine the potential risks and their impact on business in the case study (Greenland Dentals) attached below.
