Practicing Experimental Design

Give each article a thorough reading. Think creatively about how you might extend these findings. See below for the
writing requirements. Use only the three readings provided. 500 words.
1). Briefly outline the experimental design of a study following up on the readings, assigned to your group.
2) In your write up include what will be the overarching question in your research (i.e. what psychological
phenomenon are we seeking to impact and how?)
2) Justify why this is important to study (i.e. what will be the theoretical and/or practical implication of this work).
3) What will be manipulated (i.e. provide a conceptual description of the independent variable), what will be the
the cover story you tell participants (i.e. what will be the instructions; what frame of mind are you seeking to put
your participants in, why, and to what purpose).
4) What aspects of behavior or mental processes do you seek to influence (i.e. what is the DV, conceptually
outline what will be measured and how).
5) Finally, provide informed evidence-backed speculation of what results in you expect to obtain and why.
