The aim of this short paper (410 words) is to present a concept for your final paper. To write a good abstract, you must be clear about what you want to do. Think about the following questions:
1) What is the subject of your paper? Make sure that you discern exactly what you are writing about e.g. “In my paper, I am to analyze how focalization, granularity, and mode of narration are utilized in The Sims 4.” (Make sure to encapsulate the subject of your paper in the first sentence of your abstract.)
2) Why is this subject of interest? There are many reasons why the engagement with a subject could be relevant for academic discourse e.g. it rectifies a misconception, provides new insight, relates to wider debates in society.
3) How are you going to approach your subject? Make sure to think about structure for your paper and decide on your methodology; also, mention which literature you are going to incorporate.
Idea 1:
The game can be divided into many genres. I found out that the following games have been very successful and loved by the public for many years. Additionally, the population of these games is very large. I will read some news or articles about the game, which illustrates the reason for the public to enjoy playing the game. Psychological changes in playing the game, the experience of players get from the game and the age range of the players. These are my current ideas. The following three games are the games I want to analyze: Minecraft, League of Legends and CrossFire.
Idea 2:
Player Unknown's Battlegrounds is one of my favorite computer game. It is an online multiplayer battle royale game developed by a South Korean Company. It is also a mixed genre of survival game and shooting game that denies definite categorization. For my final paper, I might analyze the game map environment, the rough-and-tumble concept and players' experience in the game. According to the different strategic choices of the players, the processes and results of each game are unique.
