Reading Gordon's Bad Faith and Anti-black Racism, In the chapter "White and Black Bodies in Bad Faith," Gordon describes two bad-faith attitudes toward the body: bad faith against facility (consciousness's °denial of being body") and bad faith against transcendence (consciousness's claim to be only object for others) (pg. 97). Try to explain, in 1-3 paragraphs: What explanations does Gordon give for why, in an anti-black society, one might think that the white group 'would choose the value of Absence," and why they didn't (pg. 98)? How is this bad faith?
