Write the report in Scientific Format and in third person as follows:
Introduction – Why investigate a person’s energy expenditure (including physical activity) and a person’s food
intake (energy intake)? Give a background of the person’s health and daily routines. What is their life stage?
How does their life stage impact nutritional needs? What was their BMI? Did they have any health goals or
follow any special kind of diet?
Methods – Explain how you collected the data – i.e. a food journal, activity journal, SuperTracker program
(website), fitbit. Explain how you analyzed the food intake data. Did you use Supertracker to analyze the
nutrient content or did you look each food up on another website? How did you determine if you met your
nutrition/activity goals? AMDR, DRI, RDA, Dietary Guidelines for Americans, MyPlate?
Results – Show the person’s results.
List the grams of carbohydrate, protein, and lipids.
List the average total daily intake of macronutrients as a percentage of the total – for example, 50% carb, 20%
protein, and 30% lipids (fat) based on a person’s intake. List the expected energy expenditure daily (how many
calories did you need?). Were there certain vitamins and minerals that they were deficient in or exceeded their
needs? What their physical activity? Did their physical activity consist of aerobic or anaerobic activities? What
was his/her water intake?
