After the Aegean states were freed, many of the members felt that their goal and been accomplished and that they should
disband. Athens disagreed and used this dissent as an excuse to attack those that withdrew their support from the League.
Sparta lent their support to anyone who went against the Athenians, effectively dividing the League and spheres of influence
within Greece.
Why were the Spartans willing to help after being expelled by the Athenians?
