Find an argument to analyze (or if I've given one to analyze, then to use that one). The argument can be one that encompasses most of the article or it can be one that drills down to a very specific point, but in either case, it should be central to the main thesis of the article. (Of course, if an author analyzes their own argument with a deductive paraphrase in standard form, don’t use that.) It should put the argument in standard form, but you should also give an explanation of each premise. You should also give a page number for where you are quoting/paraphrasing each premise. Ideally, the analysis is (1) deductively valid, (2) charitable to the author and (3) sufficiently detailed to be quite accurate to what the author is arguing.
