One of your mentees overheard a friend talking about emotional-relational health and emotional intelligence. The mentee is puzzled and wants to know if you know anything about this notion. You say, “Sure do…I was recently introduced to it in my doctoral program.” Your task is to explain how you came to know about the health of your inner life and as a result, increased your “ability to recognize and understand emotions in yourself and others, and your ability to use this awareness to manage your behavior and relationships.” (Bradberry & Greaves, 2009, p. 17).
After completing this module’s readings and corresponding assessments, thoughtfully do the following as you give attention to our Overarching Directive:
Explain what you have learned about your overall emotional health, and in particular, how to develop and transform your inner life in order to develop and manage relationships more effectively. Dig deep into the Taking Flight assessment, Scazzero, other readings-to-date, and noticeably integrate key insights for a rich explanation.
Define what Emotional Intelligence is and what its four skills look like. Share which skill you are going to work on first and the strategies needed to increase that particular EQ skill. Noticeably apply insights from your EQ Appraisal Report and Bradberry & Greaves text to secure and support your action plan.
