THIS IS THE TOPIC Neuropsychiatric disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders, and substance abuse disorders are types of mental illness that have significantly increased in veterans. —access to proper healthcare/healthcare programs and housing can reduce the number of homeless cases among veterans (Depp et al., 2015). • Organizations VA Maryland Healthcare (ORGANIZATION THAT WAS CHOSEN) United States Department of Veterans Affairs is not a nonprofit organization. VA Maryland health care operates a comprehensive behavioral health program that provides excellent Veteran-focused mental health care. Some centers provide financial planning and assistance, employment services, primary care, mental health care, substance abuse disorders treatment, and safe and stable housing placement. The Center also offers Baltimore’s homeless veterans necessities such as showers, laundry services, clothing, and meals. • Alternate organization The Maryland Center for Veterans Education and Training (MCVET) The Maryland Center for Veterans Education and Training (MCVET) is a nonprofit corporation designed to provide homeless veterans and other veterans in need with comprehensive services that will enable them to rejoin their communities as productive citizens. This project aligns with my professional interest and career goals by allowing me to demonstrate with evidence the need for programs to help homeless individuals manage their mental illnesses (ADD ADITIONAL REASONS) • I will examine the correlation between poor health (illness) and veterans by percentages. I will examine how age, sex, and income contribute to homelessness and neuropsychological illnesses in percentages. I will also examine why homeless individuals with neuropsychological illness who served in the army are more likely to die prematurely in percentages. • I will examine the correlation between poor health (illness) and veterans. • I will examine how age, sex and income contribute to homelessness and neuropsychological illnesses. • I will examine why homeless individuals with neuropsychological illness that served the army are more likely to die prematurely. THE WRITER WILL ADD ANY ADDITIONAL POINTS THAT NEEDS TO BE EXAMINED This project will add value to the VA Maryland Healthcare by illustrating with evidence, the effectiveness of how their programs provide the highest possible quality of care for clients “person-centered, whole-person.” • This topic was chosen because I recently had a neuropsychological assessment of my daughter, who was diagnosed with Autism. When her doctor went through her assessment results, he talked about how so many people are undiagnosed with mental illness, and most of that population falls in the homeless category. I want to know how these programs benefit the homeless and what services should be added to programs to help homeless individuals manage their mental illnesses. I LISTED REFERENCES THAT I THOUGHT WILL BE IDEAL FOR THE PAPER AN ADDITIONAL 4 REFERENCES WILL NEED TO BE ADDED TO THE REFERENCE LIST. References Depp, C. A., Vella, L., Orff, H. J., & Twamley, E. W.
