National Football League (NFL) National Anthem Debate as a social movement

Look at the NFL (National Football League) and the national anthem debate (taking a knee during the national anthem - protests - started by Colin Kaepernick) as a social movement and how the media's representation of it. Compare how social media talk about it VS how did the NFL/teams talk about it/responded. Issue that can be broken down using rhetoric analysis as the research method - meaning think about the language found used by fans on social media and the NFL. Where do you see the real problems in terms of how the NFL is trying to shape the narrative and shape the conversation around this issue. Do some textual coding as an exercise, again, focusing on the language that is surrounding the issue, keywords that keep showing up. How do sport casters talk about it, how do interviews go, etc. Discuss the Censorship surrounding the whole issue, both sides of it. Includes all material used. Can include interviews, extended quotes, screenshots of tweets.
