NAEYC Code of Ethics

For this presentation you will revisit your role as a fictional administrator of a preschool. This time you have
been asked to speak at your state’s annual NAEYC Conference in a session for new members and first time
conference attendees. The focus of the 1 hour presentation will be on introducing the NAEYC Code of Ethical
Conduct and Statement of Commitment to your audience, early childhood professionals with various
backgrounds and experiences, all of whom will be unfamiliar with the code. Just as in the last presentation,
your presentations are going to have to be complete enough that all of these diverse adult learners will walk
away with the background knowledge and experience they need in to order to understand and use the
information to inform their diverse work, but also short enough to fit into a one hour time frame (with time
allotted from questions and conversation, as this is the most important part of adult learning).
You may choose to work in pairs/small groups or as individuals. Those working in pairs/groups will be expected
to create more comprehensive presentations that those working alone. Each person in the group/pair will label
which slides they worked on specifically and will be graded individually.
