Military Running Estimate

TASK: Prepare a Warfighting Function (WfF) running estimate (Word Document or Power Point - IAW your
instructor's guidance) after receiving the commanders initial guidance during step one of the Military
Decision-making Process: Receipt of Mission. This is an individual open note/book assignment. It will
demonstrate analysis of the mission, problem, and available capabilities from the assigned WfF perspective to
enable integrated planning, Course of Action (COA) development, COA analysis, and operations order/annex
production.
STANDARDS: The narrative estimate is not to exceed two (2) pages (Times New Roman, 12-point). The WfF
running estimate will be IAW FM 6-0, Commander and Staff Organization and Operations. Each WfF running
estimate should include both facts and assumptions, a summary of the current situation by mission variables
(METT-TC), conclusions, and recommendations. Each WfF running estimate should account for both friendly
and enemy strengths, systems, training, morale, leadership, and the impacts of terrain and weather on
particular WfF capabilities
