The first thing to do is to select a company you would like to analyze. The company selected should be a publically traded company and not a financial institution, like a bank. If you haven't already. please send me the name of the company you would like to analyze.
The analysis should follow the following format:
Begin with a description of the company. describing it's principal products and the region of the world in which it operated. Describe what the management if the company is saying about the company. You will find this in the President's Letter or in the Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A) section of the report. During the course, several ratios and other metrics have been introduced which are used to analyze company's performance. Many, but not all, ratios and metrics are described in Module 4, Exhibit 4.4 on pages 4-13 & 4-14. Perform the calculations for the selected company and, following each individual calculation, describe and interpret what you believe the calculation means. Your written narrative might include whether the company's performance is good or bad, whether it is improving compared to prior periods, how it compares to other companies in the same industry, and what you think the metric may tell you about the future of the company. Write a conclusion about your opinion about the future of the company. As an appendix. attach the balance sheet, income statements, Cash flow statements and statements of
stockholder's equity for your company.
