Methodological challenges of management research (critiquing) Order Description   This assignment is a part of a final year capstone project. the project is divided into three assignments and each one of them is a continuation and a part of the other, and this is ASSIGNMENT TWO I have already done the first part therefore am going to attach it because you will need to relate and use some information from it for attempting the second assignment. The project is about a company which is called Aurecon its Australian company its one of the leading companies, and now they are facing a challenge and its required from me in this capstone project is to solve the challenge by developing new strategy or idea by using different tools and theories to back it up ( its not that easy ). The challenge Aurecon is facing is related to knowledge management. Aurecon wants to come up with a new strategy that can improve and create more shared value of knowledge between employees in different departments (like for example engineering and marketing department) they want to create a strategy that each employee from different departments can easily and effectively share their knowledge and expertise among each other, and how in the same time they can use this knowledge to serve their customers, the new strategy might have some kind technology intervention and it should meets long term goals. So in the first assignment it was required from me to diagnose the challenge and in the same time to conduct situational analysis which included internal and external analysis such as PESTEL, porter 5 forces, VIRO and SWOT analysis. (actually I didn't do that good on the first assignment). you are required to use some of the information from the first assignment which I will attach with the files.   Purpose of assignment two: This assignment is designed to get you to think more deeply about how you might solve the management challenge and why your chosen approach is/is not the “best way.” The main focus is on you discovering the latest management thinking to help you determine cutting edge solutions. In other words planning new strategy that will improve knowledge management and the new planned strategy must be useful for long term goals and more importantly how the new planned strategy will be related to skills, structure, system and style of the organisation, how all these factors can help in creating shared value between employees and in the same time to use effectively to serve the customers. ( I will attach more files about the details of the second part assignment please read them carefully so that you get the clear image)   Requirements of the assignment: 1.Re-state the problem in the context of your chosen management perspective as a research question. You may have to do some research on ‘how best to formulate a research question.’ ( I will attach Aurecon files and assignment one please use them and go through them carefully)   2.Undertake a literature review of contemporary management literature that will help you to better understand the nature of the management challenge, how theory can inform a solution and what (if anything) has been tried before to solve this kind of problem (e.g. Has this challenge occurred before? Maybe in another industry? Has it been solved?)   3.Continue to conduct industry and company research involving critically analysing and synthesising business information. ( I will attach IBIS industry and company reports please use them)   4.Your information should be both broad and deep. Once you have collected the information, you have to critically analyse it. (please use google scholar or library databases for the research and use company information which is focusing into the official reports focusing on the company I will upload files about the company please use them and undertake your own research and it must be scholarly sources) 5.Identify and select appropriate tools, models and theories that will help you to understand the problem through the lens you have chosen.These should be from scholarly sources. ( conduct porter 5 forces ,VIRO, value chain analysis to the new strategy as well provide detailed generic map of the new planned strategy ,please approach them professionally do them in proper way and display meaning providing detailed diagrams or tables and again all these tools must be scholarly resources and deeply detailed)   6.Identify the strengths and weaknesses of the tools, models and theories you’ve selected. Suggest alternative methods to eliminate weaknesses. ( conduct SWOTand The Resource Strengths/importance Matrix analysis to measure the new planned strategy weakness and strength how to avoid the weakness give alternative solutions) Again, rely on scholarly sources. Write a report justifying why your research approach to solving the management challenge should be adopted.     7.Use a report format. Appendix: Write a 500 word response to the feedback you received in your first assignment and what you did in reaction to that feedback to develop your approach to achieving success in this assignment (this does not count towards your total word count, I will attach the first assignment and within the file you will find the feedback I received this part is very important).
