Meeting Human Needs in Architecture

Select an architectural movement, approach, building or site that demonstrates engagement with the human aspects of architectural design. Research and write an
approximately 1500 word formal academic paper driven by a thesis and argument that
analyzes your chosen subject within the context of designing for human needs –
keep people and their needs, perceptions, and experiences at the center of your
analysis.

• Arts & Crafts Movements

• Mass Housing/Worker Housing/Public Housing

Renewal] vs. Jane Jacobs [New Urbanism], etc.
• Public Works and/or the pedestrian experience
• Hospitals, etc.
• Religious or ritualistic spaces
• Museums, theaters, libraries, and other cultural spaces
• Immersive and experiential spaces
• Themed Entertainment Spaces
• Gardens and Landscapes
